The postsecondary enrollment metrics captured in this dashboard include the percentage of students enrolled in any college, four-year universities, two-year community colleges, public institutions, private institutions, and trade/vocational schools.

The data used in this dashboard is sourced from the Illinois Report Card public data set. Students should only be counted once in the overall enrollment total. However, there are a few districts with enrollment discrepancies.  Missing data within the dashboard can mean the school or district did not report the information, or the value of the data was too small a number to report (i.e., less than 10). This dataset uses data from the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) for high school graduation. The National Student Clearinghouse captures data from more than 95% of institutions nationwide, and its data is commonly used across states.
