In February, Northwestern Medicine welcomed 16 students from Evanston Township High School to the Evanston clinic to learn from leading physicians and healthcare professionals. The students received a tour of the facility, worked on a case study with Dr. Micah Eimer (cardiologist), received a phlebotomy demonstration, saw a heart sonogram, and witnessed an OPTO testing where images are captured of the eye to check for floaters, bleeding, and tumors. This experience allowed students to go behind the scenes of healthcare to help inspire and guide them as they consider future careers.
