The Boone County community has secured a grant through ISBE, to support the region’s ability to identify and develop innovative resources to promote Career Exploration and Career Development Experiences. The project has begun with Growth Dimensions, the Illinois 60 by 25 Network intermediary for the region, leading community outreach to recruit businesses interested in developing and offering 60-hour internship experiences. The goal is to provide 15 paid internships for Boone county high school students this spring. Boone County is part of a cohort of communities that will receive strategic guidance and technical assistance to implement the grant through professional development and community of practice sessions from EdSystems.
