City of Moline Employs High School Interns

Moline High School students were recognized at a city council meeting for participating in a summer internship program with the City of Moline. Students worked in finance, human resources, and public works for four to six weeks this summer. Students will now be invited back to continue with the internship next summer after graduation and will be eligible to be interviewed for any positions they qualify for after completing the program.

$1.4 Million Investment in Laborers’ High School Program

The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $1.4 million to southern Illinois to provide career training and supportive services to help workers secure good construction and laborer jobs through a partnership between regional high schools, Shawnee Community College, and local labor unions.
