Students at North Chicago Community High School continue to participate in job readiness training, financial literacy, career exploration, and occupational training activities virtually. Plans are underway for a virtual work-based internship in the second semester. The program is made possible through a Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Programs for Lake County Grant received in July 2020. Currently, eleven students are in the program and there are plans to expand the program in future years. Some of the employers involved include GF Machining Solutions and Hydraforce, both located in Lincolnshire, Medline in Waukegan, Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest, and North Chicago Community Partners in North Chicago.
