In McLean County, over a dozen education, employer, and community entities adopted the 60 by 25 goal and have made it part of their strategic planning toward workforce development.
The McLean County Chamber of Commerce is screening candidate applications for the position of workforce development coordinator, who will coordinate strategic plans across entities, foster collaboration, seek resources, and monitor progress data and deliverables. Regional Office of Education #17 hosted summer training for the Inspire Platform for managers from across the Midwest. Pathways and programs of study are being developed across six targeted career clusters. Finally, the Employer Engagement Committee conducted and analyzed a baseline employer survey to identify current and projected workforce needs and most valued/essential employability skills.
