College Express and Regional Partnerships Continue Expanding Postsecondary Opportunities in Vermilion County

As the College Express program concluded its 2025–2026 academic year on May 5, regional education and workforce partners across Vermilion County continue to build stronger connections among students, postsecondary education, and local career opportunities.

Through a partnership between Danville Area Community College, the Vermilion Vocational Education Delivery System (VVEDS / EFE 400), local school districts, Vermilion Advantage, and regional employers, College Express provides high school students with opportunities to earn college credit while exploring career pathways aligned to workforce needs throughout the region.

This year, students from across Vermilion County completed coursework designed to help them build momentum toward certificates, degrees, and future employment opportunities while still enrolled in high school. The program continues to serve as an important bridge between secondary and postsecondary education by helping students gain confidence, reduce future college costs, and better understand the opportunities available to them after graduation.

Regional collaboration also continued to expand through paid internship opportunities available to area high school juniors. In partnership with Vermilion Advantage and local employers, students gained meaningful workplace experience aligned with their career interests. This year, Express Employment Professionals joined the partnership to assist with the human resources and employment management components of the internship process, helping streamline opportunities for both students and employers.
