This quarter, Evanston Township High School (ETHS) College and Career Experiences Department focused on career-pathway exposure in the fields of education, health sciences, business & marketing, and engineering. The titles of professionals who engaged with ETHS students included registered nurse, community health administrator, sterile processing technician, electrolysis clinician, teacher, lead marketing strategist, marketing manager, business development manager, president, engineer, and software developer.
Professionals in these fields spoke to audiences of hundreds of students, sharing insights into their specialties. Students gained an understanding of their backgrounds, careers, education, training, daily realities, skills, and qualifications.
ETHS also hosted its first-ever Career Pathway Month with a highlight on automotive. In partnership with The Trade Collective, a month of exploration and hands-on activities introduced many ETHS students to the world of automotives. These activities included guest speaker sessions, a tire-changing competition, and a beautiful display of a 1990 Mazda Miata at ETHS. Evanston thanks its sponsors, the Community Garage and Autobarn of Evanston.
