Highland Success Center Continues One-Stop-Shop Success

Supporting students through postsecondary attainment can be fun!

Each semester’s Midway Through Midterms event was a big hit for Highland Community College students, and this spring’s was no different. Students participated in the open house for stress-relief activities like bead bracelet making, motivational rock painting, board games, pizza, and even a “Honk Like a Goose” contest to celebrate the college’s unofficial second mascot. Phi Theta Kappa, Women in Science, and students from the Cosmetology program also helped run activity tables. A guest appearance by Millie the Therapy Dog completed the lineup of activities.

Highland is proud of the entire Success Center staff, including the Student Success Coach, Brett. Over the past year, Brett has been dedicated to implementing Highland’s B4 U Test, a placement test prep program, plus coaching multiple athletic teams and connecting hundreds of students to campus and community resources. Brett says: “I am very happy I get to help students realize how much potential they have. Helping students get out and be a part of campus is what makes this place very special.”
