On September 15, 2025, CTE teachers Chante’ Andrews and Tiffany White accompanied 25 juniors and seniors from Homewood-Flossmoor High School to Motorola Solutions Headquarters for an immersive Shadow Day experience hosted by Alyse Walker-Barajas, Project Manager and proud HF alum.
Students explored innovation, technology, and career pathways at Motorola. Highlights included an engaging tour of the Innovation Center, hands-on equipment demonstrations, and a powerful first responder demo, where students had the chance to try on uniforms and gear.
The day also featured a Q&A panel with professionals in engineering, project management, software development, and sales, as well as small-group lunches with industry experts for meaningful career conversations. Students learned about Motorola’s rich history, explored real-world applications of technology, and even discovered future internship opportunities available to college students.
This unique experience gave HF students a closer look at how innovation and community service come together at Motorola—and how their own skills and interests might lead to exciting careers in technology.
