Workforce Education Committee Welcomes Workforce Education Director to Lead County-Wide Talent Development

Vermilion County continues to lead the way as a designated Leadership Community through the Success Network, marking an important new chapter in its workforce development journey. This spring, a partnership between Vermilion Advantage, Danville Area Community College (DACC), and the Vermilion Vocational Education Delivery System (VVEDS) officially formed the Workforce Education Committee – a collaborative effort to address regional labor shortages and support student-to-career pipelines.

Jodi Ingram, Workforce Education Director

A significant step in this initiative was the creation and funding of a dedicated position to lead this work full-time. The region is thrilled to welcome Jodi Ingram as the newly appointed Workforce Education Director. Jodi brings both the passion and expertise necessary to strengthen their regional talent pool while creating exciting new pathways for Vermilion County students.

In her role, Jodi will be responsible for creating and coordinating career engagement opportunities across all grade levels, including 9th-grade career exploration events, 10th-grade industry cluster tours, 11th-grade job shadowing, and 12th-grade career expos. Her work will also involve expanding the College Express program, managing a student-led social media campaign, and facilitating ongoing dialogue between industry and education partners through advisory committees and biannual meetings.

Jodi’s leadership will be key in uniting K-12 schools, postsecondary institutions, and the business community to deliver impactful programming. Her role reflects the region’s commitment to not only addressing labor gaps but also making Vermilion County an even more attractive place to live, work, and raise a family. The enthusiasm and collaboration surrounding this new chapter are contagious.

Representatives from the region are excited to move forward with Jodi at the helm of this transformative effort, confident that the Workforce Education Committee will be a driving force behind a stronger, more connected, and opportunity-rich Vermilion County.
