McLean County continues to create additional opportunities for students to explore various career pathways with the opening this past August of the new 200,000 sq ft. Bloomington Career Academy (BCA).
Formerly housed in one wing of Bloomington High School as the Bloomington Area Career Center, BCA now has a state-of-the-art learning center for approximately 20 career pathways that serves students and staff in ways that could only be dreamed of before the pandemic. With support from participating districts and business partners throughout Bloomington-Normal and McLean County, students from over a dozen high schools now have the opportunity to learn on the most advanced equipment from experts in their fields.
The BCA still has room to grow and will add additional programs over the next two years to meet the ever-changing needs of the local workforce and the career and postsecondary dreams of area students.
